About Camilla

Camilla Hampton is the founder and principal of Camilla Hampton Interior Design, a studio she established in 2012 having completed her Interior Design Diploma. Initially based in London, she expanded her practice to Wiltshire in 2018, where she now offers building project management and interior design/refurbishment services throughout Wiltshire and the surrounding counties of Hampshire, Gloucestershire, and Somerset.
Camilla's design philosophy centers around creating chic, timeless interiors that reflect the unique architecture of each project and the distinct personality of her clients. She specializes in elegant transitional design, harmoniously blending contemporary and traditional elements to achieve a cohesive and sophisticated look. By integrating antiques and architectural details—such as architraves and wall paneling—with modern art, contemporary lighting schemes, and fabrics, she creates stunning spaces that are functional, comfortable, and extremely stylish.
With a particular passion for working with inherited antiques and cherished furnishings, Camilla incorporates these pieces into elegant, up-to-date interiors. Her approach is grounded in a commitment to sustainability and cost-efficiency, often opting to reuse, upcycle, or simply rearrange existing items whenever possible.
Camilla's career began at Nicole Farhi as an assistant fabric buyer, where she sourced innovative fabrics for the design house’s collections. She then honed her skills in interior and set design while apprenticing with Sarah Hersham Loftus, before launching her own practice on Abbeville Road in Clapham, London.
Over the years, she has successfully designed and project managed the construction and redecoration of a wide range of projects—both large and small—ranging from Victorian mansions and modern apartments in London to sprawling lakeside properties in Gloucestershire and stunning Grade II listed homes in Wiltshire.
Camilla has extensive experience in project managing builds, working alongside architects and overseeing the construction right through to the completed renovation. She says, "Working on the project from the initial architectural stage helps to save costly interior design, lighting, and floorplan/layout mistakes later in the project." She firmly believes that every successful project starts with furniture and lighting design, working backward to the location of sockets and switches, making it ideal to engage her services from the outset (though not essential!!).
Her commitment to quality ensures that every space she creates is elegant, warm, and functionally enduring.
In addition to her design work, Camilla is passionate about creating bespoke furniture pieces for her clients, some of which are now available for order from her shop.
Camilla Hampton looks forward to the opportunity to collaborate with clients on their interior design and building journeys, helping them transform their spaces into beautiful and functional environments.
